BMC System Engineer
Summary
At Skapion, a stealth defense-tech startup, you will design the battle management command-and-control system: authoring requirements and interfaces, integrating sensors, interceptors, and C2 nodes, and validating through lab tests and live field trials.
As BMC System Engineer, you will design the command-and-control architecture of a Native Counter-Swarm Platform: requirements, interfaces, integration, and validation across sensors, interceptors, and operator systems. You will work directly with R&D, software, and hardware teams, taking systems from architecture through live field trials. This role suits engineers who have been close to operational military systems and know how to close the loop between the whiteboard and the field.
The Mission
Your mission is to own the battle management layer that turns separate sensors, interceptors, and operator stations into one coordinated system. You will carry it from the first architecture sketch through lab integration to proven performance in live field trials.
Why Join Skapion?
Some problems are too urgent to wait. Skapion is a defense-tech company building a Native Counter-Swarm Platform, designed from the ground up to intercept and defeat the threat. We are backed by top-tier investors and recruiting at full steam.
- Build it from day one. Shape the architecture instead of inheriting someone else’s. Your decisions will define the system.
- See your work in the field. Take your system from the whiteboard through the lab to live trials and real operational use.
- Real, visible impact. In a focused team, your work matters directly to the mission and to the people who depend on it.
- Growing fast. The people who join now will help set the standard for everything that comes next.
If you want to build something that matters, with people who know how, we’d love to meet you.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop the battle management system: threat tracking, engagement sequencing, and intercept coordination.
- Author system requirements (SSS, SSDD) and ICDs across BMC interfaces.
- Drive lab and field integration across sensors, interceptors, and C2 nodes.
- Plan and execute system-level tests, field trials, and post-trial data analysis.
- Support customer deliveries and operational readiness milestones.
- Work across teams to ensure the BMC layer meets performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
Requirements
- Engineering degree or equivalent exact sciences background.
- Experience with command and control or battle management systems in the IDF or defense industry (air defense, fire control, C2 operator, or equivalent background).
- Proven hands-on development of control or BMC-type systems, from architecture through field validation.
Advantages
- M.Sc. in Systems Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with Kalman filtering or state estimation.
- Proficiency in Python or MATLAB.
- Hands-on integration experience: lab setup, field trials, and data decoding and analysis.
- Requirements authoring using formal tools (SSS, SSDD, or equivalent).
- System acceptance and delivery experience for operational customers.
- Active security clearance.
