Job Description
BMS System Engineer, with a role focused on the effective technical delivery of BMS projects. The candidate shall have a proactive customer-driven approach, demonstrating full ownership of BMS/EPMS projects, incorporating the design, software, graphics, installation, and commissioning of building automation systems.
Responsibilities
- Implement BMS technical solutions for client projects using Schneider BMS/EMS software and hardware platform.
- Prepare technical submittals (point schedules, system architectures, schematics, panel drawings, bill of material, sequence of operations, integration documents, FAT procedures, method statements, O&M manuals, training manual, etc.) in respect to Schneider Electric engineering standards.
- Manage site installations and sub-contractors with the support of project manager and lead engineers.
- Commission solutions as part of customer orders incorporating the software, graphics, installation, and commissioning of building management control systems and third-party integration.
- Configure BMS systems – setting up servers and network. Integration to other systems via Modbus, BACnet, MQTT, etc.
- Configure and commission graphics and document commissioning progress, site reports, and assist with operations and maintenance manuals.
- Work in close collaboration with customer project teams, consultants, main contractor, third-party vendors, Schneider & technical leaders for sub-parts to understand project milestones and deliverables, contribute to overall profitability of projects, and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for themselves and others, at office or site locations. Operate according to site requirements, project method statements and risk assessments, and Schneider Electric health and safety systems.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or an equivalent engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in BMS, HVAC, or controls/automation. Schneider Electric EBO and AS-P system experience is preferred.
- Previous experience working with highly complex BMS control solutions. Experience in data center industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of HVAC applications including chiller systems, air handling units, fan coil units, computer room air handlers, mechanical ventilation units, sanitary and plumbing, fire alarm, low voltage, EPMS applications for medium/high voltage electrical systems, ATS, generator, UPS, and other miscellaneous systems.
- Robust knowledge of BMS controls and HVAC with ideally some knowledge of power management systems.
- Clear understanding of integration of building systems protocols like BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, etc., and IP infrastructure.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work both autonomously or as a member of a team.
- Desire to build a long-term career by learning and developing technical knowledge and skills.
- Flexible to travel.
