We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-focused Class C Driver to join our team who values precision, communication, and compliance. This role is critical to ensure the timely and secure delivery of our materials while upholding our company’s safety standards and maintaining full compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.

Position Overview

As a Class C Driver, you will be responsible for the safe transportation and delivery of our building components to construction sites and customer locations. This role requires a strong knowledge of load securement, safety regulations, and route compliance, as well as the ability to conduct thorough vehicle inspections and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan daily routes in collaboration with the production planner, prioritizing safe and legal travel paths.
  • Perform detailed pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure equipment is roadworthy and compliant with DOT regulations.
  • Ensure secure and compliant load tie-downs, using proper safety equipment and best practices.
  • Verify load weight and distribution to prevent axle overloads and ensure stability on the road.
  • Maintain full compliance with state and federal transportation laws, especially within MD, NJ, PA, VA, and WV (interstate drivers must be 21+).
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients regarding estimated arrival times and delivery status.
  • Report safety concerns, delays, or vehicle issues to supervisors and internal teams in a timely manner.
  • Uphold the company’s commitment to safety by proactively identifying and addressing potential risks during all phases of transport and delivery.

Work Environment

  • Outdoor work is required for securing loads and unloading at job sites, regardless of weather conditions.
  • Time is spent between driving, securing cargo, and occasionally working in-office to review routing and safety concerns with the production planner.

Physical Demands

  • This role requires a combination of sedentary driving tasks and physical labor, including:
  • Securing loads with straps and chains.
  • Inspecting trucks and trailer for safety compliance.
  • Applying red flags or markers to oversized loads.
  • Must be able to climb, bend, lift, and maneuver safely around the truck and load area.
  • Regular use of communication tools and logging devices is required.
  • Schedule and Hours
  • Full-time, typically within standard business hours, with flexibility required to meet delivery schedules.
