BRANCH MANAGER – BANGALORE

About the Role

Saburi Ply is looking for an experienced and result-oriented Branch Manager to lead and grow our Bangalore operations.

The Branch Manager will have overall responsibility for branch sales, dealer/distributor development, team management, collections, inventory, market expansion and business profitability.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in the plywood or building-materials industry, a deep understanding of the Bangalore market and an established network of dealers, distributors, retailers, contractors and other channel partners.

This is a business ownership role for a commercially strong professional who can independently drive the branch towards its revenue and profitability objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Branch Business & Sales Management

  • Take complete ownership of the Bangalore branch's sales performance and business growth.
  • Develop and execute the annual and monthly branch sales plan.
  • Achieve primary and secondary sales targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand Saburi Ply's market presence across Bangalore and surrounding markets.
  • Monitor sales performance by product, territory, dealer and salesperson.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, pricing and customer requirements.
  • Ensure consistent achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual business targets.

2. Dealer & Distributor Network Development

  • Develop, appoint and manage dealers, distributors and channel partners across Bangalore.
  • Strengthen relationships with existing channel partners and increase their business contribution.
  • Identify gaps in market coverage and develop new territories.
  • Ensure effective product availability and market penetration.
  • Develop strong relationships with retailers, contractors, architects and other influencers.
  • Drive dealer schemes, promotions and other approved channel-development initiatives.

3. Team Management

  • Lead, manage and motivate the branch sales team.
  • Set individual targets and KRAs for sales team members.
  • Monitor daily/weekly/monthly performance.
  • Conduct regular field reviews and market visits with the team.
  • Coach team members on sales, product knowledge, negotiation and dealer management.
  • Recruit and build the branch team as per business requirements.
  • Take ownership of team productivity and performance.

4. Collections & Credit Management

  • Ensure timely collection of outstanding payments from dealers and distributors.
  • Monitor customer credit limits and payment discipline.
  • Closely track overdue accounts and take corrective action.
  • Coordinate with the Finance team regarding collections, credit approvals and outstanding issues.
  • Ensure healthy working capital and minimise bad debts.

5. Inventory & Branch Operations

  • Monitor branch inventory and ensure optimum stock levels.
  • Coordinate with supply chain/logistics teams for timely stock replenishment.
  • Ensure efficient movement and availability of products.
  • Monitor slow-moving and non-moving inventory.
  • Ensure proper coordination between sales, warehouse, logistics and finance functions.
  • Maintain operational discipline and adherence to company policies.

6. Market Development

  • Identify high-potential territories and customer segments within Bangalore.
  • Develop strategies for increasing brand visibility and market share.
  • Conduct regular market visits and gather competitor and market intelligence.
  • Identify opportunities with builders, contractors, architects, interior designers and project customers.
  • Support the development of institutional and project business wherever relevant.

7. Reporting & MIS

  • Prepare and review daily, weekly and monthly sales reports.
  • Monitor:

    • Collections
    • Outstanding
    • Inventory
    • Territory Performance
    • Team Productivity
  • Present branch performance and business updates to senior management.
  • Provide accurate market intelligence and sales forecasts.

Mandatory Requirements

  • 8–12 years of overall experience in sales/business development.
  • Plywood / Building Materials industry experience is mandatory.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a Branch Manager / Branch Head / Area Sales Manager / Regional Sales Manager capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of the Bangalore building-materials market.
  • Existing relationships with dealers, distributors, retailers and other channel partners will be highly valued.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing a territory/branch.
  • Strong experience in team handling and field-sales management.
  • Good understanding of dealer margins, schemes, credit, collections and channel management.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and relationship-management skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Bangalore and surrounding markets.


Requirements

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates currently working with or having experience in established plywood, laminates, MDF, doors, veneers, building-materials or allied industries will be preferred.

Candidates who have independently handled a Bangalore branch or major Karnataka territory will have an advantage.

Experience with brands such as plywood/building-material companies, laminates, MDF, doors, sanitaryware, paints or other channel-driven building-material businesses will be considered.
