Branch Manager, Belgium & Ireland
bunq Branch Manager, Belgium & Ireland
At bunq, we're on a mission to Make Life Easy for our users by creating the most user-centric banking experience out there. To deliver on that promise, we need to operate as a true local bank in every market we serve, not just a foreign provider with a local IBAN.
That's where you come in. We're looking for a Branch Manager, Ireland & Belgium who takes ownership of converting our presence in both markets into full local branches, and who becomes the named contact regulators trust. You'll hold the accountability that AI can't: your name on the license, the relationship with the regulator, and the calls that don't have a rulebook answer.
Take Ownership π
As Branch Manager for Ireland and Belgium, you will show bunq's excellence both inside and out by delivering the branch conversion and owning the regulatory relationship end to end. Here's how you'll do it:
Deliver the full branch conversion for Ireland and Belgium to a fixed regulatory deadline, owning the task register end to end.
Be the named contact for the National Bank of Belgium and the Central Bank of Ireland. When our approach differs from what they expect, you make the case for why it's still safe and hold that ground under scrutiny.
Localize bunq's AML/CFT framework for both markets through gap analysis, not policy writing.
Decide escalated retail customer due diligence cases where local context is the deciding factor.
Use AI to scale the above. You build and run the automation, not just consume it.
You have owned a supervisory relationship as the primary named contact, and know what the NBB or CBI expects in practice.
You have delivered a regulated entity setup, licence change, or passporting project to a hard external date.
You have deep AML/CFT knowledge in Ireland or Belgium, and working familiarity with the other.
You've made and defended individual user investigation decisions in a consumer retail context.
You preferably speak French or Dutch.
Curious to see how we make life easy? - try the bunq app, it only takes 5 minutes to sign up.
