Brand Copywriter

Discussion

GIS Benefits has named a new category in the employee benefits market: Benefits Operating Partner™. The visual identity is built. The declaration has been made. What this role is responsible for is making sure every word — and every asset that carries those words — is worthy of it.

The Brand Copywriter owns the GIS narrative and the written content that brings it to life across every format. Writing is the primary discipline: this person sets the brand voice, writes across every format and audience, and produces the sales collateral, website copy, presentations, and communications that define how GIS goes to market. Light design capability is a valued secondary skill — not a replacement for a trained graphic designer, but enough comfort with modern AI-powered tools to drop copy into an existing template, make a simple on-brand layout, or tidy up a visual without always waiting for a specialist.

Writing is the primary discipline. Design capability — enough to execute simple, templated layouts — is a valued and differentiating secondary skill.

The ideal candidate thinks like a communications strategist, writes like a brand veteran, and is comfortable enough in today's design tools to assemble simple assets independently. A “figure it out” mindset is a must.
