Brand Designer
Your role:
Hi there. Janine here. I know, this is unconventional… I'm deviating from the regular job description script. Why? Because this role is different. The starting point for this role is different. And we want to communicate that clearly.
If you browse our website and think, "amazing opportunity for a rebrand", we are not for you. Because here's the truth: what you just saw isn't a draft. It's not a v1. It's the result of a year spent getting the fundamentals right and building a visual foundation we believe in for the long term. What you saw is the floor, not the ceiling. It's the minimum bar for anything we ship from here on out. No rebrand. No reset. Just continuous improvement.
We're now at the point where we're looking to build up in-house design, and we need someone who can put the brand before personal signature, buy into what you just saw, execute on it with the same care it was built with, and then, over the years, shape its trajectory and help develop it further.
Who are you designing for, you ask? Three very different audiences: HR, the CFO, and, most importantly, the insured person. Not the easiest of brief, since most of the industry still talks to people like they're a policy number, especially at their hardest moments. We want to change that. This is why your work matters so much. At every touchpoint. You're not just making things look good. You're deciding what it feels like to face this system on a day when someone has less capacity than usual to deal with it.
That's the job: breathe life into our brand with your design skills and branding expertise, ensuring we deliver high-quality design solutions that connect with our audiences, feel distinctively human, and feel distinctively us.
The team, you ask?
At this stage of growth, most of us are generalists wearing many different hats each day. Outside of work, you might find us boating on the lake, snowboarding in Arosa, hiking in Appenzell, playing dress-up with our kids, or looking out the window in a classroom in Bern. A bunch of wonderful human beings, skilled in many different things in life. Each one is equally important in building this brand step by step, day by day.
P.S. No AI in the application process for this role! We look at every portfolio and read every cover letter. So, you are not wasting your time telling us why you want to join :)
