Summary

Lead Catholic/Lasallian identity at an international school in Singapore, overseeing faith programs, staff formation, and strategic planning to align school culture with religious traditions.

We are seeking applications for the position to start in January 2027.

Reporting to: Chairman, Board of Governors

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

The Brother President role shall be to strengthen, direct, and implement the Catholic/Lasallian identity and presence at SJI International in all of its forms. The Brother President ensures that the school's philosophy, structures and the implementation of policies and programs are in alignment with the Catholic/Lasallian traditions and beliefs. He also provides direction and guidance in ensuring a school community with a strong Catholic/Lasallian identity. The Brother President is a visible representative of the Brother Visitor and the Brothers of the LEAD District who sponsor and own the school. He is the "face" of the school in all public venues.

Specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Direct staff and student programs and activities relating to Lasallian identity and character by deepening awareness of, and engagement in, the Catholic and Lasallian identity of the school in the following areas:

a. Recruitment of staff

Be part of the final selection team for the recruitment of all senior staff to ensure that staff recruited should demonstrate an orientation towards the Lasallian mission. Be available to participate in interviews of teaching or admin staff, as requested or desired, for a similar purpose.

b. Gather and Analyse Data

Impact is measured by leveraging a data-informed ecosystem that combines early indicators, process data, and outcome evidence. Lead the data ecosystem for strategic areas of responsibility.

c. Strategic Planning and Implementation

Lead the strategic impact of Faith, Wellbeing, and Belonging by collaborating with all divisions and stakeholders.

d. Professional development of staff

Work with the school leadership in organizing the induction activities of new staff and the formation of all staff in the Lasallian mission.

e. Student formation.

Lead the formation of students as Lasallians, which will include overseeing the development of the activities of Catholic students groups on campus.

2. Coordinate and direct, in collaboration with school leadership, the formation of Lasallian mission programs and activities. This includes the formation for the mission of the Board of Governors, administration/staff, faculty, students, parents, donors, benefactors and others.

a. Represent the Board of Governors to coordinate programs and activities relating to the Lasallian identity and character of SJI International.

i) Chair the Catholic & Lasallian Identity Committee (CLIC), the Faith Formation Team (FFT) and/ or similar groups related to the ethos, identity, and spiritual formation of the school's stakeholders.

b. Create formation resources that will deepen awareness of, and engagement in, the Catholic/Lasallian identity within both the primary and secondary schools.

c. Direct the coordination of formation for mission programs and activities with the two schools through joint meetings with the two principals.

d. Make final decisions concerning scheduling, programs and policies that deal directly with the Catholic/Lasallian identity of the Institution and the formation programs.

e. Directly engage in all the schools' administrative structures, such as the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and others as desired or appropriate, so as to provide direction and guidance in realizing greater Catholic/Lasallian identity throughout the institution.

3. Responsible for all matters relating to the School Chapel, its use and development, along with the schools' Religious & Moral Education programs, the Brothers on campus, and the different programs that are sponsored through the Campus Ministry Centre and Lasallian Youth activities.

4. Maintain a personal Lasallian "presence" among staff, students, parent groups, etc. along with their various programs and activities.

5. Provide a Catholic / Lasallian presence at outside events as a representative of SJI International.

a. Attend all appropriate meetings for LECOS, ACCS, or other organizational bodies relevant to the Catholic and Lasallian identity of the school.

b. Available to represent the institution at public functions as requested by the CEO, Board of Governors, or school administration.

c. Assist in Advancement work as a spokesperson for the Institution.

6. Forward the mission of SJI International as determined in consultation with the Board of Governors.

a. Be in regular and ongoing communication with the Board of Governors; is an ex-officio member of the ES/HS Board of Governors and a regular member of the Preschool Board of Governors.

b. Reach out to the larger community in Singapore in order to develop or strengthen ties among religious and secular individuals or groups.

c. Demonstrate a forward-looking vision and interest in developing the Lasallian identity and its schools in Singapore, especially among the other Lasallian institutions and their activities or plans.
