At People's Arc of Suffolk’s Saul and Elaine Seiff Educare Center, we understand the importance of the early years in a child’s learning and development. Our model consists of a continuum of services throughout the child’s adolescence, and prepares students for further education, future employment and a life of self-sufficiency.

Role Summary: The Behavioral Support Assistant under the direction of the Behavior Intervention Specialist is
responsible for the daily supports and implementation of behavioral strategies in a person's plan to assist them.

Role Responsibilities:
 Provides behavioral support to people in compliance with their support plan
 Crisis Intervention
 Attends meetings with person supported and support staff
 Maintains program setting in a neat, organized manner; adheres to safety standards.
 Notifies BIS of any changes in the health condition of a person or any other pertinent information.
 Submits written reports on significant events which have occurred at program
 Participates in drop off and pick up as needed
 Completed agency fleet training and assists with transportation
 Assists with toileting and personal hygiene, utilizing lifts when needed
 Prepares all required paperwork and computer data entry in a comprehensive and timely manner
 Responsible for basic training on support strategies as assigned by BHS
