BUDGET ANALYST

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) Directorate Resource Advisor at performing a variety of budget analyst functions involving the formulation, justification, execution, and/or analysis of budgets for a HQ USCENTCOM Directorate. ****This is a TERM Position NTE: 13 mos.****

Formulates, justifies, coordinates, presents, and executes the Directorates annual and/or multi-year budget. Independently performs budgetary, administrative, and statistical analyses to support the development of consolidated budget requests for the Directorate and its components. Monitors and coordinates budget activities of subordinate offices, ensuring the timely submission of budget estimates by program managers and staff officials. Monitors and coordinates budget activities of subordinate offices, including tracking fund distribution, reconciling commitments/obligations, and supporting appropriate use of open or expired funds. Ensures an audit trail substantiates the obligation and expenditure of funds; establishes and maintains systems to track expenditures relative to funding activities. Manages Directorate travel budget planning and execution, reviewing estimates and expenditures to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant directives. Develops and presents information and recommendations in support of various reports and briefings; identifies trends/patterns to substantiate conclusions. Utilizes automated budgetary systems to accomplish budgeting assignments, including data entry, tracking, and financial analysis. Periodically performs quality checks of automated system databases to ensure accuracy, validity, and alignment with regulatory requirements.
