Budget Analyst
Summary
Oversee and validate the foreign assistance budget for the State Department, ensuring accurate financial tracking and compliance with congressional reporting requirements.
This position is located in the Office of Foreign Assistance Oversight, Office of Budget and Appropriations (FAO/BA). On behalf of the Under Secretary for Foreign Assistance, Humanitarian Affairs, and Religious Freedom (F), the Office of Foreign Assistance Oversight (FAO) serves as the nexus of foreign assistance policy, planning, budget, and performance. FAO/BA manages and oversees the foreign assistance budget formulation, execution, and funds approval processes for the State Department.
Supports the apportioning and allotting of bureau assigned accounts in coordination with the Office of Budget and Planning (BP).
Validates funds availability, tracking and reporting of assigned accounts to ensure accuracy of financial management systems, records and congressional or other reporting.
Develops guidance associated with the Funds Approval process; collaborates with FAO team during the implementation stage.
Drafts or coordinates responses and provides information, explanations, and clarifications that respond to Department, OMB and Congressional questions and inquiries.
