Serving as a Budget Analyst GS-0560-12/13 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the Budget Division within the Chief Financial Officer Directorate. The primary purpose of this position is serving as a Budget Analyst responsible for providing senior budgetary and staff assistance on budget formulation and execution matters as they relate to the support of the FLETC. Most issues cross operational boundaries, and close coordination is required to ensure proper budget formulation and execution. Many issues are highly sensitive, unusual, complex, or one-of-a-kind. Typical duties include: Formulating, developing, monitoring, reviewing and analyzing the Operations and Support and Procurement, Construction and Improvements appropriations for the entire agency Developing and establishing the financial plan in the Momentum Financial System by fund, office, and major object class, ensuring that funds are properly allocated and spent in a timely and effective manner in support of authorized management objectives Analyzing various sources of information, preparing and submitting data for various budget-related reports Performing an assortment of analyses and studies related to the budget process Coordinating with various offices/divisions and participating organizations to resolve problems in relation to budgeting and financial systems Providing advice and guidance to lower-graded Budget Analysts and reviews their work for technical accuracy.
