This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Performance Planning and CFO in Washington, DC. The incumbent serves as a senior analyst on all budget, financial management, and program planning activities.
As a/an Budget Analyst at theGS- 0560-14, some of your typical work assignments may include: Analyzes legislation, appropriations language, OMB directives and Treasury Department guidelines pertaining to the Agency's budgeting and planning requirements. Develops budget plans by performing analysis of budget systems, cost standards, cost effectiveness, cost benefit ratios, historical spending, etc. Concurrently translates budget plans into financial management terms. This planning function requires the use of specialized forecasting techniques including statistical, quantitative, economic, trend, and other analyses. Uses to the maximum extent possible all available data processing equipment to automate routine office budgetary operations, provide more thorough, detailed, timely analyses, and gather, store, and perform a wide variety of analytical operations on programmatic and budgetary data for use in developing annual and multi-year budget estimates and for reviewing and controlling the expenditure of funds. Prepares formal consolidation budget forecasts and reports on budget execution required by SBA officials, OMB, and Congress; and coordinates the preparation and execution of the budget for a major segment of the agency's budget.
