Budget Analyst

About the Position: The incumbent works directly under the supervision of the Chief of Navigation Branch, performing a variety of budget administration functions.

Performs a full range of budgetary duties associated with planning, programming, budgeting, and execution of assigned programs.

Provides authoritative and accurate guidance, assistance, analysis, evaluation, interpretation and support on all financial management to the, organizational leaders, supervisors and support staff.

Monitors and evaluates execution for assigned programs to ensure funds are executed in accordance with approved operating budgets and other financial requirements.

Assists in projecting and tracking obligations and expenditures within organization throughout the execution phase of the annual operating budget.

Verifies and ensures requirements included in budgets are consistent with organization's mission and requirements.

Analyzes and summarizes historical data to identify trends and assess funding requirements.

Prepares data summaries for inclusion in routine and special reports on budget execution.
