Responding to General Maintenance service calls and addressing maintenance needs throughout the property.
Performing basic repairs and preventative maintenance in guest rooms, public spaces, and other hotel areas.
Working across a variety of maintenance needs, including plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, carpentry, flooring, and general repairs.
Prioritizing work orders and urgent requests to minimize disruption to guests and hotel operations.
Inspecting machinery, equipment, and building systems to ensure they meet operational and safety standards.
Moving furniture, equipment, guest luggage, and other items as needed to complete maintenance projects.
Maintaining an organized inventory of tools, equipment, materials, and supplies.
Identifying materials and supplies needed for projects and assisting with ordering and picking up items as necessary.
Providing timely and professional maintenance support to hotel departments and leadership.
Keeping work areas clean, safe, and organized throughout each project.
Handling chemicals and maintenance materials according to hotel and regulatory safety requirements.
Maintaining proper security and accountability of assigned keys.
Assisting with outdoor maintenance tasks, including shoveling, clean-up, and snow or ice removal when needed.
Working independently while knowing when to communicate issues or request additional support.
Taking on additional maintenance responsibilities based on property needs and business volume.

You have strong knowledge of commercial building repair and maintenance across multiple trades.
You are comfortable working with electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, carpentry, carpet repair, and general maintenance projects.
You are safety-conscious and understand the importance of following established safety and health requirements.
You can prioritize multiple work orders and respond appropriately to urgent maintenance requests.
You are comfortable working independently and managing your responsibilities without constant supervision.
You have strong problem-solving skills and can determine the appropriate next step when addressing maintenance concerns.
You take pride in maintaining clean, organized, and professional work areas.
You are dependable and committed to excellent attendance and punctuality.
You are willing to learn new skills, obtain required licenses or certifications, and stay current with applicable safety requirements.
You understand that great Engineering teams support every department and help create a seamless experience for guests and Curators.

Education and Experience

Previous commercial building, hotel, facilities, or property maintenance experience required.
Strong knowledge of general building maintenance and multiple maintenance trades, including electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, carpentry, and carpet repair.
Previous hotel or hospitality engineering experience preferred.
Ability to read and understand blueprints preferred.
Experience operating power tools, hand tools, ladders, and other maintenance equipment.
Ability to operate or learn to operate motorized vehicles and specialized trade equipment.
Ability to obtain and maintain any required government licenses, certificates, or permits.
Ability to understand and comply with company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize work orders based on urgency and operational needs.
Must be safety-conscious and committed to following all required safety procedures.
Ability to maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl while performing maintenance tasks.
Ability to occasionally sit and use senses of smell and taste when required for job-related tasks.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 100 pounds.
Ability to perform repetitive motions and use hands and fingers to operate necessary tools and equipment.
Ability to climb ladders and work from ladders, man-lifts, scaffolding, or other approved elevated equipment.
Ability to work in guest rooms, public areas, mechanical spaces, storage areas, and outdoor areas of the property.
Ability to work around moving mechanical parts, electrical systems, tools, equipment, fumes, airborne particles, and cleaning or maintenance chemicals while following required safety procedures.
Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wet or humid conditions, and other outdoor environments.
Ability to work in areas where electrical shock, elevated work, or other maintenance-related hazards may be present.
Ability to maintain physical stamina for labor-intensive maintenance work.
Ability to wear and properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
