Building Futures Case Manager

Position Overview:

Building Futures Southwestern Ohio is a new 12-week pre-apprenticeship program that provides participants with the skills and trade-specific instruction to enter an apprenticeship and pursue a career in the construction industry, launching at Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio. Modeled after the award-winning program in Franklin County, Ohio, the program lays the foundation for building a career in the skilled trades, such as electricians, ironworkers, painters, plumbers, pipefitters, and sheet metal workers. Building Futures graduates are offered direct entry into many apprenticeships in the previously mentioned skilled trades. Once accepted into an apprenticeship opportunity, participants complete on-the-job training and classroom education and enjoy competitive wages and benefits, including medical insurance, life insurance, and retirement benefits. This program will serve as a pipeline to critical hard-to-fill roles in the construction industry while creating true economic mobility for people struggling with intergenerational poverty.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide barrier removal assistance, including but not limited to transportation, childcare, and housing support, to ensure participants can fully engage in the apprenticeship readiness program.
  • Collaborate with community resources and partner agencies to coordinate and refer participants to supportive services.

  • Monitor participant progress and provide ongoing case management to address any emerging challenges or barriers.
  • Conduct regular follow-up with participants to support their successful completion of the apprenticeship readiness program.
  • Collaborate with program staff to facilitate effective program delivery, including organizing and participating in workshops, training sessions, and career development activities.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance case management skills and stay updated on relevant resources and best practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in accordance with program guidelines and regulations.
  • This role requires occasional travel to other sites.
  • Other duties as assigned.
