Building Maintenance Specialist - Tennessee Athletics - UTK

This position will assist and aid in daily custodial duties, preventative maintenance, and maintenance for Athletic Facilities.

• Daily general maintenance and cleaning of athletic facilities.

• Post-event cleaning for athletic events

• General painting on athletic grounds and facilities, including but not limited to touch-up painting, painting of rooms, walls, and exterior surfaces at ground level, etc.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: Experience working in general custodial services and/or facilities maintenance for a company or university/college.
• Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Basic cleaning and general maintenance knowledge and skills

  • Basic skills with hand and small electric tools.

  • Knowledge of maintaining different types of flooring and surfaces.

  • Ability to identify safety hazards and report to the supervisor.

  • Ability to set up and break down events.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree
• Experience: Experience working in general custodial services and/or facilities maintenance in a collegiate athletics capacity.
• Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of small engine maintenance (basic blower, pressure washer maintenance, etc.)
