Building Supervisors

JOB SUMMARY: The Glenview Community Ice Center is looking to hire part-time building supervisors. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Manage all part-time staff on site, including skate rental employees, skate guards and maintenance positions. Reports performance to full-time supervisor.
  • Regular ice maintenance including cutting the ice, shoveling the dump-tank snow into the pit, changing the propane tanks, and other general Zamboni maintenance
  • Clean the interior of the building thoroughly (moping the floor/stands, washing windows, wiping walls, cleaning bathrooms, sinks, etc.)
  • Perform set-up and tear-down of tables and chairs for programs and special events
  • Perform all seasonal work assignments (e.g. snow removal, salting, ice rink maintenance, etc.)
  • Take care of the skate rental (e.g. exchanging the skates from the racks for shoes from the customer and accepting cash and credit transactions.)
  • Provide attention to the general public including handling questions and complaints responding to accident/incidents, etc.


QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will be reliable with previous experience managing part-time staff or facilities, knowledgeable of ice arena operations and driving an ice resurfacer preferred. Must be at least 18 years old.

SCHEDULING & PAY: This is a year-round position working 10-20 hours/week. The typical schedule will include nights and weekends. The hiring rate with no previous ice resurfacer experience, $19/hour, with ice resurfacer experience, $21/hour.
