Bus Driver - Substitute

St. Edward-Epiphany Catholic School is seeking a dependable Substitute Bus Driver to provide transportation for students on an as-needed basis. This position will fill in for regular bus drivers during absences and may also provide transportation for school field trips and special events.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation for students on designated morning and afternoon bus routes, as needed.
• Transport students to and from field trips and school-sponsored activities when requested.
• Follow established bus routes, schedules, and school transportation procedures.
• Maintain a safe driving record and ensure all required licenses and certifications remain current.
• Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report mechanical concerns to the Facilities Manager.
• Refuel the bus as necessary.
• Promote safe and respectful student behavior while on the bus and promptly report behavioral concerns to school administration.
• Communicate effectively with school staff regarding transportation needs or schedule changes.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for school bus operation.
• Clean driving record with no history of major traffic violations.
• Previous experience driving a school bus or similar passenger vehicle preferred.
• Strong commitment to student safety and responsible driving practices.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Ability to work a flexible, as-needed schedule, including occasional morning and afternoon routes, field trips, and special events.
• Ability to meet all applicable state, federal, and diocesan requirements for school bus drivers.
