Business Analyst (AMK)

Summary

The Business Analyst will gather and document requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and facilitate communication between stakeholders and development teams. The role involves applying design thinking, managing project documentation, and conducting software testing within an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyse and document business requirements from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review existing business processes and recommend improvements.
  • Translate business requirements into user stories, use cases, functional requirements and technical specifications.
  • Conduct impact assessments and feasibility studies for new initiatives and system enhancements.
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions to identify user needs and define project scope.
  • Apply Design Thinking and user-centred approaches to develop practical solutions.
  • Support ideation, prototyping, user testing and solution refinement.
  • Work closely with developers, UX/UI designers, project managers, product owners and QA teams.
  • Prepare test plans and test cases, conduct end-to-end testing and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Track and manage defects to ensure issues are properly resolved.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and provide clear project updates.
  • Prioritise competing requirements and help stakeholders make informed decisions.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement and retrospectives.
  • Maintain accurate project and system documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Software or information technology background.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • At least one year of QA or software-testing experience, including manual testing, test-case preparation and defect management.
  • Ability to analyse complex business requirements and translate them into functional or technical specifications.
  • Good understanding of business-analysis tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of Design Thinking and user-centred design principles.
  • Experience preparing test cases, test plans and conducting end-to-end testing.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
