Job Description:

Bank of America is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join the APAC Regulatory Reporting Change team within Data, Reporting & Operations Management (DROM). This role will support the delivery of strategic regulatory reporting and transformation initiatives across APAC, partnering with business, operations, compliance and technology teams to implement regulatory change and enhance the firm's reporting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and translate regulatory obligations into business and functional requirements.

  • Create business analysis artefacts including BRDs, process maps, user stories, requirements JIRAs and traceability matrices.

  • Perform gap analysis, impact assessments and data mapping across systems, processes and reporting obligations.

  • Support regulatory reporting rewrites, remediation initiatives and strategic transformation programmes.

  • Coordinate UAT and implementation activities, including defect analysis, root cause investigation and stakeholders’ approvals.

  • Partner with stakeholders across Global Markets, Global Banking, Operations, Compliance, Legal and Technology.

  • Prepare governance materials and provide updates to project working groups and steering committees.

  • Support implementation readiness activities, including data migration, backloading and post go-live validation where required

Required Experience

  • 8+ years of Business Analysis or Change Management experience within financial services, ideally within regulatory reporting, operations change or technology-enabled transformation.

  • Hands-on experience delivering regulatory reporting change initiatives such as implementation, rewrite, or remediation programmes across APAC markets , with strong familiarity with transaction reporting regimes such as MAS, ASIC, HKMA, JFSA, Korea or RBI.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyse complex regulatory obligations and translate them into practical business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, JIRAs and traceability artefacts.

  • Strong data analysis capability, including investigation of source-to-report data lineage, reconciliation breaks, reporting exceptions, completeness gaps and data quality issues across front-to-back processes.

  • Experience supporting UAT, SIT or defect remediation activities, including root cause analysis, prioritisation of defects, coordination with technology teams and preparation of readiness evidence.

  • Ability to work effectively across business, operations, compliance, legal and technology stakeholders, including both regional APAC teams and global delivery partners.

  • Practical understanding of regulatory reporting data concepts such as UTI, UPI, CDE, trade lifecycle events, reportable attributes, control checks and exception management.

  • Experience producing high-quality business analysis artefacts, including BRDs, process flows, control documentation, test scenarios, implementation checklists and governance updates.

  • Strong working knowledge of Agile or hybrid delivery methods, including backlog management, sprint-based delivery, requirements refinement and delivery tracking through tools such as JIRA.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently with limited supervision and deliver high-quality outcomes within challenging regulatory timelines.

Preferred Experience

  • Understanding of front-to-back regulatory reporting processes, including trade lifecycle, operational controls, and exception management.

  • Experience with regulatory reporting platforms, trade repositories or vendor utilities used to support report generation, submission, controls or exception management.

  • Exposure to Banking or Loans regulatory reporting, in addition to transaction reporting, would be advantageous.

  • Familiarity with post-trade controls, operational readiness activities, implementation checklists, go-live support and post go-live validation.

  • Experience contributing to regulatory remediation, internal audit, issue management or control enhancement initiatives.

  • Ability to support senior stakeholder updates, working group materials and delivery governance across complex regional or global programmes.
