Business Analyst
Summary
Business Analyst models processes, elicits requirements, and translates needs into specs for enterprise systems, using BPMN/UML and SQL.
- Analyse and model business processes, capabilities, value streams, roles, data, and organisational structures
- Elicit, document, and analyse business requirements, user stories, and stakeholder needs
- Translate business, user, and technical needs into business requirements specifications
- Support business experts, product owners, and development teams throughout the solution lifecycle
- Maintain and track requirements and user stories from inception through implementation
- Map business goals, expected benefits, priorities, business capabilities, and system features
- Analyse existing systems, processes, and operating models to identify improvement opportunities
- Support the evaluation of solution options, feasibility assessments, and business case preparation
- Design, validate, and optimise business processes using BPMN and industry best practices
- Contribute to system design, testing, quality assurance, deployment, and change management activities
- Perform quantitative analysis of business processes, including cost-benefit and what-if analysis
- Support organisational change initiatives and transition planning activities
- Implement and monitor business process performance measures and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with process owners and stakeholders to identify efficiency and effectiveness improvements
- Support business users in defining strategic plans, implementation plans, and transition roadmaps
- Prepare and maintain business analysis documentation, process models, and project artefacts
- Communicate project objectives, business needs, requirements, and scope to stakeholders
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor
- Minimum 8 years of relevant IT professional experience, at least 5 years of which in a Business Analyst or similar role
- Minimum education level: Level 6 (Bachelor's degree or equivalent)
- Minimum English language proficiency: C1
- At least 2 certifications among:
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
- Certified UML Professional (OCUP) Foundation Level
- BPM 2 Fundamental Level
- or equivalent certifications recognized internationally
- Experience participating in at least one complete software solution lifecycle from requirements through delivery
- Knowledge of business process modelling using BPMN notation
- Experience eliciting, analysing, documenting, and managing business requirements and user stories
- Knowledge of analysis and modelling techniques, including UML diagrams such as capability, activity, state, and logical data models
- Proficiency with modelling tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect, ARIS Architect, or similar platforms
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to create, maintain, and manage business analysis and project documentation
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Solid experience performing business analysis for enterprise information systems supporting human resources, asset management, financial processes, and grant management functions
- Experience working on integration projects involving enterprise systems and data platforms
- Demonstrated familiarity with SQL and data analysis techniques
- At least 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst on a large system working with development teams of more than 10 developers
