The Business Analyst serves as a junior member of Doherty’s FP&A team, helping manage the company’s data practices, ad hoc analyses on the business’ operations, and financial reporting.
*NOTE: This is not a remote position. Candidates must work in the corporate office in Allendale NJ - Monday - Friday

Responsibilities
- Assist in the improvement of business processes by helping the team design, test and implement new data strategies and work flows across the company
- Build and maintain financial models to analyze unit economics, labor and food cost trends, and new store performance
- Write SQL queries to pull and validate data from our cloud data warehouse (Snowflake) for recurring reporting and one-off analysis
- Partner with Accounting, Operations, IT and Restaurant Systems teams to understand how store-level data flows through our ETL pipelines and into the data warehouse
- Maintain and improve existing Excel-based reporting and dashboards used across the FP&A team
- Support monthly close, budgeting, and forecasting processes across corporate and store-level P&Ls
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Analytics, or a related field
- 0–2 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, business analytics, or data analytics; relevant internship experience may be considered
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to build complex formulas and basic financial models from scratch
- Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or R, with the ability to clean, reconcile, analyze, and draw meaningful insights from large data sets
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across departments
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with the curiosity to investigate questions that may not have an obvious answer and clearly communicate findings and thought process
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Basic understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts, including how data moves from source systems into a data warehouse and is modeled for reporting
- Familiarity with restaurant or multi-unit business KPIs, including metrics used to evaluate revenue, labor, food costs, and overall operating performance
