Business Analyst, EDI & Integration (2 year contract)
Summary
A two-year contract Business Analyst role in Singapore owning all EDI and API integrations for Ben Line's LinerX liner agency system — gathering requirements, managing change requests, configuring partner connectivity, and thoroughly testing EDI functions with vendors, ports, depots and trading partners. No coding involved.
About the role
The Business Analyst will be solely responsible for all LinerX integrations, covering EDI-format exchanges and API integrations with external parties such as principals, ports, depots and third-party booking platforms, as well as all integrations with the Company's internal systems. All development is performed by the vendor; this role does not involve coding. The most critical aspect of the role is the thorough testing of EDI functions in LinerX. The position encompasses two parallel streams of work: rollout integration changes to support the LinerX implementation team on EDI and integration changes required for the rollout, and BAU integration change requests to own all integration-related CRs raised after go-live.
Key responsibilities
Identify all integration requirements of each office, covering EDI and API integrations with trading partners and integrations with internal systems, through discussions with business users and SMEs
Conduct fit-gap analysis against the standard message set and interfaces, and promote adoption of standard mappings over partner- or office-specific customisation
Own all integration-related CRs raised during the implementation and ensure that each adheres to the CR lifecycle, encompassing request, impact assessment, approval, build, testing and deployment
Own and perform thorough testing of all EDI functions in LinerX prior to UAT, covering inbound and outbound messages, mappings, data updates within the system, acknowledgements and error handling
Plan and conduct UAT and end-to-end testing with SMEs and trading partners, including the preparation of test scenarios and test cases
Liaise with the vendor on interface and mapping specifications, ensuring they meet the stated requirements and that gaps and open issues are resolved
Coordinate with trading partners, including principals, ports, depots and third-party booking platforms, and with owners of in-house applications on message specifications, connectivity and implementation timelines
Be responsible for integration setup prior to go-live, including partner profiles, code mappings and connectivity configuration
Assess the readiness of each CR based on test results, approvals and business readiness, and provide a go/no-go recommendation to the Product System Manager
Engage regularly with the BAU support team to review recurring EDI and integration tickets, and propose improvements to address root causes and improve reliability

A minimum of six years' experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role, with a focus on EDI and system integrations, including involvement in system implementations or rollouts
Strong, hands-on experience in testing EDI functions, including validating inbound and outbound messages against specifications, verifying that message data is correctly created and updated in the system, checking acknowledgements and error handling, and conducting end-to-end testing with business users and external trading partners
Proven experience in managing change requests through the full CR lifecycle, from requirements definition to deployment and BAU handover
Experience in working with third-party software vendors and external partners on solution design and delivery
Strong working knowledge of shipping EDI formats based on UN/EDIFACT, such as COPARN, CODECO, COARRI, IFTMBC, IFCSUM, IFTMAN and CUSCAR
