Our client in the Oil and Gas sector in Accra is seeking to recruit a Business Analyst (contract) to provide financial and economic analysis that supports key business and investment decisions. The role focuses on developing forward-looking business cases and investment evaluations based on holistic business data. It involves conducting research, valuations, due diligence, cash flow forecasting, and risk assessments to guide strategy, acquisitions, and long-term financial planning. The position is integral to optimizing profitability, improving cash flow, managing expenses, and enhancing overall financial stability.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct valuations and economic analyses of investment opportunities to guide strategic decisions.
  • Build and maintain advanced financial models to assess performance, cash flows, and risk exposure.
  • Support financial planning through the development of investment models, stress-testing, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Perform financial and commercial due diligence on potential investments and partnerships.
  • Prepare investment reports and presentations with recommendations for management.
  • Enhance financial models, economic tools, and reporting solutions to improve decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen business performance, profitability, and cash flow.
  • Monitor oil and gas industry trends, commodity prices, and macroeconomic factors affecting company performance.
  • Benchmark company performance against industry peers.
  • Coordinate and consolidate inputs from multidisciplinary teams (engineering, operations, commercial, finance).
  • Conduct ad-hoc modelling and analysis to support strategic projects and capital allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSSEQ) policies and actively participate in related programs.



Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial modelling, valuation, due diligence, or similar roles.
  • Proven experience in the oil and gas industry is required.
  • Strong background as a finance analyst, business analyst, investment analyst, or investment banker.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel modelling and PowerPoint.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance, financial forecasting, and economic analysis.
  • Understanding of reserves valuation, fiscal regimes, and upstream oil and gas operations.
  • Experience with tools such as WoodMac is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High integrity, self-motivated, and able to work effectively under pressure.
