About the role
As a Business Analyst in the Office of AI, you’ll help turn AI potential into practical outcomes. You’ll work with business and delivery teams to identify where AI can add real value, lead discovery and process conversations, and translate complex problems into clear, testable requirements, enabling responsible, scalable AI adoption across the organisation. This role offers a hybrid working environment.
Location: Sydney or Melbourne (preferred); flexible across other cities in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify AI use cases aligned to business problems with teams, then shape them into well-defined use cases with clear success measures.
- Facilitate discovery, process and transformation workshops, documenting decisions and providing and analysis.
- Create clear artefacts, user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps that teams can confidently build from acceptance criteria, business rules, and assumptions.
- Build value stream maps (current and future state) & define flow measures showing steps, handoffs, decision points, and an improvement backlog to create an evidence base so improvements are visible, defensible, and repeatable.
- Support testing, go-live confidence and outcomes tracking by shaping test approach, writing test cases/scenarios, supporting UAT, and validating “definition of done.” Keep outcomes on track through requirements traceability, change management across stakeholders, and value tracking after deployment.
- Create transparency and clarity for stakeholders navigating complex change. You’ll partner across the organisation, helping set direction and enabling AI adoption at scale.
About you:
Technical
Essential:
- 3–6 years’ experience in business analysis, consulting, or a similar role in complex environments.
- Strong capability in gathering requirements, documentation, and stakeholder facilitation.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating workshops and translating complex stakeholder inputs into actionable requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Hands-on experience in process mapping and/or value stream mapping, identifying bottlenecks and defining improvement actions.
Highly desirable
- Experience delivering process change and transformation, including automation or AI‑enabled initiatives, with hands‑on process mapping and continuous improvement.
- Strong grounding in Lean ways of working, including value stream mapping and flow measures (e.g. process vs wait time, rework, handoff quality).
- Working knowledge of AI, data, and digital delivery, including core AI concepts (automation, ML, GenAI), data analysis/visualisation tools, and Agile or iterative environments.
Non-Technical
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability, with the ability to work through complexity and identify practical improvement opportunities.
- Clear communication and translation skills, able to turn complex ideas and stakeholder input into structured, understandable outputs.
- Confident stakeholder engagement, working effectively across business and technology teams to build alignment and shared understanding.
- Skilled workshop facilitation and collaboration, guiding groups to agreed requirements, decisions, and improvement actions.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated capability in business analysis practices: requirements elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder facilitation.
