Business Analyst
OVERVIEW
Hendall is currently seeking Business Analysts with strong workflow analysis skills, database design and visualization skills, and experience supporting business operations and processes. The Business Analysts will be collaborative and demonstrate focus and attention to detail. They are responsible for documenting and monitoring the implementation of business system and data requirements, as well as tracking, analyzing, and reporting complex information from multiple sources.
DUTIES
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with external customers and internal application engineers to analyze information needs and functional requirements, and deliver artifacts, such as business process maps, requirements documents, database models, use cases, and specifications
- Work independently with end users to define concepts, and under the direction of project leadership
- Work effectively with development teams, participate in sprint planning, and provide level-of-effort estimates to project leadership
- Interpret data, formulate reports, and make recommendations based upon the research findings
- Design and support data visualizations, including dashboards
- Apply descriptive statistical analysis to data
- Create, document, and implement quality control procedures that eliminate data errors
- Gather data sources to address data issues identified by internal and external reviews
- Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, recommendations, or alternatives for improving processes in operational models and workflow procedures
- Serve as the conduit between the customer community and the software development team to achieve successful product direction
- Represent Hendall in the most positive manner with prospective, former and current clients; vendors; and the community we serve
- Interact effectively with a diverse group of staff, clients, and other customers of our services
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a relevant field, plus a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a business analyst or data analyst role
- Experience with Atlassian products Jira and Confluence
- Experience developing business process models and workflow diagrams
- Experience using Excel and SQL, SAS, or other programming languages to query and summarize data from extracts or large databases for generating reports and to aid decision-making
- Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., SAS, Python, R)
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS
- Three (3) or more years of experience with business systems and data management related projects.
- Experience with Agile development processes
- Experience maintaining relational databases using SQL
- Data visualization experience using dashboards in Tableau, Excel, etc.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Outlook) to create complex documents, manage schedules, and analyze data
- Effective organizational, planning, and time-management skills
- Experience with claims data or health information management
Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000 per year
