Business Analyst - Investment Banking Operations

We are looking for experienced Business Analysts with strong Investment Banking Operations domain expertise to join our team. You will act as the bridge between business and technology teams, driving requirement gathering, business process analysis, and solution design. This role requires a proactive individual who can effectively collaborate with business stakeholders, operations teams, and technology teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with business teams to document current ("as-is") processes across Operations functions, with a focus on enabling future-state automation.
• Support operating model finalisation by mapping end-to-end workflows and identifying inefficiencies.
• Lead process improvement projects from a business analysis perspective, understanding pain points, engaging stakeholders, and driving outcomes.
• Create test scenarios to validate process changes and automation implementations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Business, Technology, Operations) to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements. Formal BRD creation is not mandatory, with the emphasis on practical documentation that enables execution.
• Identify and champion automation opportunities within BAU processes, recognising that operational teams are often too capacity-constrained to drive this themselves.
• Maintain a platform-agnostic mindset. The role is about understanding what needs to change, not how a specific tool implements it.

SKILLS

Must have

• 5+ years of experience in a similar Business Analyst / Process Analyst role.
• Strong Investment Banking experience is a must, with hands-on exposure to Operations, Trade Life Cycle, and post-trade processes, including all F-2-B areas of the bank.
• Broad understanding of Capital Markets, including awareness of asset classes (Fixed Income, FX, Derivatives, Equities, etc.) and their trade lifecycle (Booking, Validation, Settlement and Confirmation & Corporate Action).
• Strong understanding of Investment Banking Operations, including but not limited to Corporate Actions / Events Processing (e.g., Dividends, Rights Issues, Bonus Issues, Stock Splits).
• Proven experience in process documentation, process mapping, and business/data mapping.
• Ability to independently lead requirement gathering sessions and functional discussions with business users and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both business and technology stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, self-driven, and capable of driving discussions and requirements to closure with minimal supervision.

Nice to have

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments. • Knowledge of SQL for data analysis and validation. • Experience working with global Investment Banking clients. • Exposure to investment banking operational platforms and workflow tools.
