Business Analyst, Jr/Sr (Core Banking)
Summary
Business analyst (junior or senior level) supporting delivery and implementation of core banking solutions across Trade Finance, Deposits, Loans and Payments. Day to day: gathering client requirements, writing FSDs and process flows, supporting FAT/SIT/UAT and go-live, and acting as liaison between bank clients and Sunline's technical teams.
About the role
The Business Analyst will support the delivery and implementation of banking solutions across Trade Finance, Deposits, Loans and Payments. The role involves requirements gathering, solution mapping, documentation, testing support, and acting as a key liaison between clients and internal technical teams. Candidates with functional knowledge of at least one of these banking modules will have an added advantage.
Key responsibilities
Gather and analyse banking clients’ business requirements, identify pain points, and translate their needs into clear functional requirements.
Conduct requirements workshops and map business processes for relevant banking modules, including Trade Finance, Deposits, Loans and Payments.
Guide clients toward standard product capabilities and recommend appropriate configurations or enhancements to minimise unnecessary customisation.
Prepare and maintain FSDs, requirement specifications, process flows, gap-analysis reports, user manuals, training materials and test cases.
Conduct requirement walkthroughs, coordinate internal and external reviews, and obtain timely customer sign-off.
Support the end-to-end delivery lifecycle, including solution validation, data migration, FAT, SIT, UAT, go-live and post-implementation support.
Work closely with Product, R&D, QA, PMO and Delivery teams to ensure the solution meets business and regulatory requirements.
Consolidate common requirements across projects and contribute to product enhancement and continuous improvement.
Support presales activities, including product demonstrations, customer Q&A, POCs, RFP responses and initial solution preparation.
Maintain proper documentation, version control and knowledge sharing throughout the project lifecycle.
About you
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field.
Relevant working experience:
Junior: 3–5 years of experience in business analysis, functional consulting, banking technology or a related role.
Senior: 5–8 years of experience in business analysis, functional consulting, banking technology or a related role.
Fresh graduates with a relevant Banking or Finance degree may be considered for junior opportunities.
Hands-on experience or strong functional knowledge in at least one of the following banking modules:
Trade Finance: Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Collections, Supply Chain Finance or related trade products.
Deposits: CASA, Term Deposits, account lifecycle, interest and fee processing.
Loans: Loan origination, credit assessment, disbursement, repayment schedules, collateral or delinquency management.
Payments: Domestic or cross-border payments, transfers, clearing, settlement, SWIFT or ISO 20022.
Experience in banking-system implementation, core-banking replacement, digital banking or system-integration projects is highly preferred.
Strong experience in requirements gathering, business-process analysis, and functional documentation, including preparing FSDs.
Familiarity with software delivery and testing processes such as FAT, SIT and UAT.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and translate business needs into practical system requirements.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation and stakeholder-management skills.
Comfortable working with cross-functional and multicultural teams.
Experience in data migration, presales, RFP responses, POC support or solution demonstrations is an advantage.
Good command of written and spoken English. Mandarin or other additional language capabilities are advantageous.
Exposure to AI tools for documentation, analysis or productivity enhancement is a plus.
Willingness to travel to client sites when required.
