Business Analyst

At Khatabook, we are looking for a Business Analyst - Operations to help streamline our Lending Operations strategy and processes through robust metric tracking, data-driven insights, and experimentation.

In this role, you will work on improving data collection, strengthening metric visibility, and identifying opportunities to enhance collections health and operational efficiency. You will analyse business performance, build dashboards, evaluate experiments, and help senior leadership make informed decisions through actionable insights.

We are looking for professionals with 2-3 years of experience in analytics, strong SQL and Excel skills, and the ability to translate complex data into meaningful business recommendations.

Responsibilities:

• Improve data collection, data coverage, and visibility to generate deeper insights into collections health and the efficiency of different operational teams.
• Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor Lending Operations performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Identify key drivers influencing business and operational metrics and support the development of causal models to understand performance trends.
• Enable senior leadership to make informed decisions by communicating key metrics, business trends, and actionable insights.
• Build, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports to improve business performance monitoring and operational visibility.
• Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve collections processes.
• Support the design and evaluation of business experiments to measure their impact on operational performance and efficiency.
• Collaborate with senior team members and relevant stakeholders to translate business problems into analytical approaches and recommendations.
• Use statistical analysis and quantitative problem-solving techniques to evaluate business performance and support data-driven decision-making.
• Contribute to improving measurement frameworks and reporting processes to ensure consistent and reliable tracking of operational metrics.

Requirements:

• 2-3 years of experience in analytics, business analysis, or a related quantitative role.
• Prior experience in Operations Analytics, Customer Experience Analytics, or Product Analytics will be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in SQL and Excel for data extraction, analysis, and reporting.
• Hands-on experience with Business Intelligence (BI) and data visualisation tools such as Tableau, QlikView, Power BI, Cognos, BusinessObjects, or Pentaho.
• Strong understanding of statistics and experience applying statistical analysis to business problems.
• Strong quantitative abilities, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify key business drivers, interpret data trends, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Strong organisational, communication, presentation, and project management skills.
• Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly to business stakeholders and senior leadership.
• A structured approach to problem-solving, with attention to detail and a focus on data accuracy.
• Background in statistical modelling and experience with statistical or scripting tools such as R, Python, Spark, SAS, or SPSS will be a plus.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage analytical tasks in a fast-paced business environment.
