Business Analyst

Salary: RM 8,000 – RM 11,000 per month

About the role

This role requires a candidate with strong data management, data analytics and data visualisation expertise. You will undertake requirements solicitation from stakeholders and end users, turning them into well-formed formal requirements and Business Requirements Documents (BRD). You will dig deeper into problems to identify root causes, perform AS-IS/TO-BE process mapping, and undertake data analysis to validate and refine requirements. You will partner with delivery teams to ensure solution definition meets requirements and is delivered with accuracy and quality, enabling clear traceability and documentation of requirements through process flow diagrams. You will develop a standard set of analytic tools to enable the business to perform data analytics, support data requirements review, and be involved in change management governance processes to ensure smooth transition from Project to BAU.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake requirements solicitation from stakeholders and end users and turn well-formed formal requirements into BRD

• Identify root causes of problem statements and understand what and why something is required

• Perform AS-IS/TO-BE process mapping

• Undertake data analysis to validate, challenge and refine requirements

• Partner with delivery teams to ensure solution definition meets requirements and is delivered with accuracy and quality

• Enable clear traceability of requirements starting with the BRD and ensure process flow diagrams and AS-IS and TO-BE processes are clearly documented

• Develop clear test scenarios and exit criteria and engage testing team well ahead to drive quality of testing

• Support data requirements review and document strategic data requirements working closely with internal and external stakeholders

• Develop a standard set of analytic tools to enable business to perform data analytics

• Be involved in change management governance process to ensure smooth transition from Project to BAU

About you

• Proficiency in SQL development, querying, and data analysis

• Experience working with large-scale data platforms and data warehouses

• Good written, verbal, and presentation skills with moderate experience at managing Governance Forums

• Basic knowledge of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Agentic AI concepts

• Fundamental Cybersecurity/Fraud/Financial Concepts

• Strong track record of achievement, leadership and high-performance drive, especially with similar previous roles in Banking

• Team player who enjoys interacting with people of all levels in a multicultural environment

• Ability to creatively apply analytical solutions to business problems and think out of the box in adapting to changes

• Ability to work under constant pressure to tight deadlines and deliver high quality output

• Strong data analysis skills using SQL, Microstrategy or Tableau

• Proven problem solving skills

• Proven experience in Data Management and Data Quality Management techniques

• Stakeholder Management and Analysis capabilities

• Presentation skills with data storytelling using visualisations

• Communication, negotiation, relationship building and influencing skills

• Detail-oriented with strong focus on control integrity and audit readiness

• Experience supporting automation or digitisation within established operational processes

• Prior involvement in remediation programmes transitioning into BAU

• Documentation expertise in BRD, FSD, Business Glossary, Data Model, Test Strategy, Project Plan

• Experience with Requirement Matrix, Gap Analysis, Problem Analysis, Business Case reports

• Process and Data Modelling experience with AS-IS, TO-BE, Visio, Enterprise Architect, Erwin

• Knowledge of Project Management Methodologies including Waterfall SDLC, Agile, Scrum
