Business Analyst

What are the Key Responsibilities:

• Write advanced and complex programs in SAS, SQL, Python and/or R to automate extracting, managing, manipulating, and modeling large relational datasets with multiple, disparate data sources. Design and build automated Dashboarding solutions (Power BI/Tableau or similar). Monitor Sales Analytics reporting for trends or patterns, and present findings to senior leadership.
• Design solutions based on a detailed understanding of business processes across the enterprise, requirements elicitation and documentation with stakeholders. Accountable for clarifying requirements and making recommendations from expert level understanding of available data.
• Lead Consultant for large projects, acting as a SME in Advanced Sales Analytics products suite and future capabilities, including making commitments for the team and decision making. Proactively identify new topics for analysis and automation.
• Champion analytics best-practices and help drive the organization toward a greater degree of automation, transparency and repeatability in reporting and analytics. Proactively identify manual processes that can be automated and bring actionable proposals to management. Participate in new data solutions design and development where applicable.
• Drive innovation by identifying new areas of opportunity and creating proof of concept products to demonstrate new capabilities and obtain buy-in from prospective audiences.
• Provide training, technical guidance and peer review for other members of the team.

What is Required:

• 6+ years’ work experience in data and statistical analysis, or combination of transferable experience and education
• 1+ years minimum Health or Insurance industry experience
• Advanced level experience with SAS EG, SAS Base and working with SAS in a Unix environment OR advanced experience with SQL language.
• Strong PC skills including knowledge of the primary Microsoft Office applications including advanced experience with Excel.
• Intermediate level skill with business intelligence visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau or similar dashboard visualization tools
• High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy
• Ability to work with people across business units in an effective manner that influences change Fundamental leadership abilities including effective knowledge sharing, setting expectations, negotiating and obtaining buy-in Mastery of communicating highly complex information clearly and articulately for all levels and audiences
• Related Bachelor’s degree or additional related equivalent work experience Preferred degrees include Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, Actuarial or similar (quantitative and/or data experience can supplement a degree in another field)

What is Preferred:

• Sales organization experience
• Master’s degree include Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics or similar
• SAS Base Programmer or Advanced Programmer Certification
