About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Analyst to join our Digital team.

In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders, project teams, and technical specialists to identify business needs, analyse data, improve processes, and support the successful delivery of strategic initiatives. You will play a key role in ensuring our systems and services meet the evolving needs of our staff, learners, and communities.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, turning data into actionable insights, and contributing to organisation-wide transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse, and document business requirements
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement activities
• Translate business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
• Analyse data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
• Develop reports, dashboards, and business insights to support decision-making
• Review and improve business processes and workflows
• Support project delivery, testing, implementation, and change activities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile environments
• Monitor project outcomes and measure business benefits

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst delivering business improvement, digital, or transformation projects
• A tertiary qualification in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities
• Experience gathering and documenting business requirements
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Experience writing user stories, process maps, and functional documentation
• Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and culturally responsive practice
