Business Analyst (Parental Leave Cover)

Summary

The Business Analyst will facilitate requirements gathering, bridge communication between business and technical teams, and support project implementation to enhance systems. The role involves working in an Agile environment to deliver process and technology improvements across the organization.

Position Overview

ANC is looking for a Business Analyst to join our team on a parental leave cover contract until June 2027.

The role can be based either in Bella Vista, NSW or Notting Hill, VIC.

In this role, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to design, define, test and implement projects that enhance ANC’s systems across people, process and technology. Your work will play a critical role in helping us achieve our strategic goals and deliver smarter, customer-focused solutions.

What you’ll be doing
  • Gather and Analyse Requirements: Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to collect and document detailed business requirements, aligning them with ANC’s strategic goals. Translate these into clear functional specifications, user stories, and process flows.
  • Bridge Business and Technical Teams: Act as the primary liaison between business units and technical teams, ensuring clarity, alignment, and mutual understanding of project goals and deliverables.
  • Support Solution Design: Participate in solution design discussions, conduct feasibility, gap, and impact analyses, and work with developers and architects to ensure proposed solutions are scalable, cost-effective, and fit-for-purpose.
  • Testing and Change: Assist in developing and executing test plans, coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), and validate system data and configurations. Support change management initiatives and provide training to end users.
  • Contribute to Agile Delivery: Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning and reviews. Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions and address blockers promptly.
  • Process Improvement & Documentation: Identify operational inefficiencies, perform root cause analysis, and recommend improvements. Develop and maintain documentation including process flows, guides, and manuals.

What are we looking for?

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a large enterprise, with a proven track record in process and technology-based initiatives
  • Strong understanding of Agile & Software development principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and communicate transformational change across various organisational levels.
  • Experience presenting business cases, impact analyses, and feasibility studies to senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
  • Technologically savvy, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI
  • Relevant industry certifications in Business Administration, IT, or related fields
  • Experience working in a Transport/Logistics industry is a plus
