Business Analyst / Product Owner - Payments

Owns cross-border payment features, translating business needs into API-driven solutions and leading legacy migration to modern payment rails.
Details:
Contract: B2B, 12 months + possible extensions
Set up: hybrid, 1-2 days per month in Warsaw or Kraków office
Summary: This role focuses on bridging the gap between business and technology in cross-border payments, driving initiatives from discovery to implementation.
Main Responsibilities:
Act as the primary link between business stakeholders and technology teams, translating business needs into deliverable technical solutions.
Work closely with engineering and development teams throughout the full project lifecycle, ensuring requirements are understood, implemented correctly, and delivered successfully.
Drive initiatives from initial discovery through design, development, testing, and implementation.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve payment capabilities and customer experience.
Support the development and enhancement of API-based payment solutions.
Lead the migration of legacy payment infrastructure to modern API-driven architectures.
Work on integrating and improving payment rails through partner APIs.
Support the onboarding of new customer payment rails and payment capabilities.
Ensure business outcomes are delivered by remaining closely involved throughout the implementation lifecycle rather than handing requirements over to development teams.
Payment journeys experience.
Key Requirements:
Deep, hands-on expertise in cross-border payments.
Experience with API development and integrations.
History of migrating legacy systems to API-first architectures.
Experience with complex payments transformation programmes.
Nice to Have:
Experience in FX payments and international settlements.
Strong Business Analysis or Product Ownership background.
Familiarity with payment rails and correspondent banking.
