Digital Diligence Limited (DDL) is a Nelson-based technology agency working specialising in Zoho software implementation, complex AI solution development and systems integration with businesses across New Zealand, but particularly in Nelson and Auckland.

We're looking for a Business Analyst to join our team to support the delivery of our CRM, AI, integration and full stack business application projects. At DDL, no two days are the same - and an ability to think on your feet, and adapt to regular change will ensure you thrive in a very fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.

Our clients are as diverse as we are - we work with organisations predominantly in the medium enterprise space, who are looking to evolve their digital capability and need a partner who doesn't just nod and make the right noises, but can prove and demonstrate that understanding by building a deep awareness of our client's objectives, who can map the technology to the outcome in plain language and who can innovate and think fast when the inevitable challenge appears.

In addition to client-facing work, there are opportunities to lead and enhance our own continual improvement, product and project management practices to set a rock-solid foundation for the ongoing evolution of our services.

What you'll actually be doing

You'll be working alongside our Developers, Directors, and Clients to figure out what's really needed (not just what was asked for), mapping out how it should work, creating work & training packages and requirements for the team, and ensuring all the pieces fit together at a macro and micro level, through project discovery, design and delivery stages.

You'll also run point on business-as-usual client communications and planning for new requests for adhoc and BAU support, to ensure that unplanned requests are accounted for, well-defined and scheduled in alongside structured work where appropriate.

What we're looking for

• Someone who brings initiative and equal parts systems thinking and people-thinking (i.e. we don't want a process robot - the client outcome and experience must remain front and centre and the ability to understand both the technical and human/team components will ensure your success)

• The ability to see how the different moving pieces of a project connect, and to anticipate how they'll need to work together - i.e. understanding how a change in one part of a build (e.g. a CRM workflow) might affect another (reporting, integrations, or client-facing forms), not just completing their own task in isolation

• Some project management and leadership experience, or at minimum a solid working understanding of what a full project lifecycle looks like: scoping, definition, onboarding, timelines with solution architecture & delivery and post project support, as the nature of this role will require your involvement across all stages of a project

• Experience in a software delivery environment, especially with COTS solutions such as CRM, Finance and ERP and/or customised, or specialist line-of-business applications

• We also want someone comfortable with ambiguity, able to think across the full view of a project and know how to query or dig for information when they can't see the whole picture, rather than waiting to be told or guessing. For example:

• Asking the right clarifying questions in a discovery conversation

• Knowing when to go back to a client or colleague to close a gap in understanding, rather than pushing ahead on assumptions

Finally, you'll need to be a versatile, confident collaborator, equally capable working:

• Solo, managing their own piece of work end to end

• Within a team, coordinating with other DDL staff on shared deliverables

• Directly with clients, we need you to genuinely listen to and understanding what they're asking for (not just guessing what is meant), and confident enough to represent DDL well in that conversation
