Senior Business Analyst delivering end-to-end I&IT business analysis for Ontario Public Service (OPS) clients: gathering and documenting requirements, business process re-engineering, business cases, and data/process modeling, aligned with OPS methodologies and enterprise architecture. On-site in Toronto; stakeholder facilitation across Agile/Waterfall/Iterative projects.
Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to deliver comprehensive I&IT business analysis services for clients with diverse business and technology needs. The role involves leading business analysis initiatives, translating business requirements into technical solutions, and ensuring alignment with OPS standards, methodologies, and enterprise architecture frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end business analysis to assess business problems, opportunities, and recommend technology-driven solutions.
- Gather, document, and validate business and system requirements
- Apply business process re-engineering to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Conduct analysis aligned with OPS Unified Project Management Methodology, Enterprise Architecture, and SDLC frameworks
- Develop business cases, cost-benefit analysis, and feasibility studies
- Perform:
- Business and process modelling
- Use case modelling
- Data modeling (conceptual & logical)
- Process and data flow analysis
- Define business rules and non-functional requirements
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops (JAD sessions, interviews, etc.)
- Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and report to stakeholders
- Develop performance metrics and traceability matrices
Core Skills & Experience
Business Analysis Expertise
- Strong experience in requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation
- Expertise in business process modelling and workflow optimization
- Experience developing business cases and feasibility studies
- Proficiency in CASE tools and documentation frameworks
Technical & Methodology Knowledge
- Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile, Waterfall, and Iterative methodologies
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture and system integration concepts
- Awareness of emerging I&IT trends and technologies
- Understanding of AODA accessibility standards
Stakeholder Management
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders
- Ability to manage requirement changes and drive consensus
- Proven negotiation and relationship-building capabilities
