Business Analyst/Study Lead-Rail & Digital Transformation

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Study Lead / Business Analyst to join a leading organisation delivering strategic rail and digital transformation initiatives.

This role offers the opportunity to work across complex operational and technology environments, supporting initiatives focused on improving rail operations, enhancing business processes and delivering innovative digital solutions.

Working closely with operational teams, technical specialists and key stakeholders, you will play an integral role in bridging the gap between business operations and technology, ensuring successful outcomes across studies and digital transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support studies, business analysis and digital transformation initiatives across rail operations.
• Engage with operational and technology stakeholders to understand business requirements, challenges and opportunities.
• Analyse existing business processes, systems and operational workflows to identify improvements.
• Translate operational requirements into clear business requirements, functional specifications and delivery plans.
• Facilitate workshops, requirements gathering, process mapping and gap analysis.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across rail operations, technology and digital delivery.
• Support project planning, governance, risk management and stakeholder reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through technology-enabled solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation across complex operational environments.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Study Lead, Business Analyst, Delivery Lead or similar within a complex operational or technology environment.
• Strong experience working across both Operations and Technology/Digital, ideally within the rail industry.
• Demonstrated experience delivering business analysis, studies or digital transformation initiatives.
• Ability to understand complex operational processes and translate business needs into practical technology solutions.
• Strong requirements gathering, process mapping, stakeholder engagement and analytical skills.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams across business operations and technology.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies and governance frameworks.

Highly Regarded

• Previous experience within the mining, rail or heavy industry sectors.
• Exposure to rail operations, rail technology systems or digital transformation projects.
• Experience across integrated operations, logistics or supply chain environments.
• Experience supporting large-scale operational improvement or technology transformation programs.

Candidates with experience across both Operations and Technology/Digital within rail organisations are particularly encouraged to apply.
