Business Analyst
Summary
Functional Business Analyst (hired via recruitment firm Talenza) joining a team delivering change in the energy/consumer sector in Melbourne. Day to day: eliciting and documenting requirements, producing BA artefacts (user stories, functional specs, process maps), supporting delivery and UAT, and applying energy compliance/regulatory knowledge.
Salary: $120-130k package (including super) - no flex
We're looking for a functional Business Analyst to join a high-performing team delivering change across an energy/consumer environment. This role suits a BA who's strong on BA fundamentals ("BA 101"), can confidently translate business needs into clear functional outcomes, and understands compliance and regulatory considerations within the energy industry.
What you'll be doing
- Partnering with business and delivery stakeholders to elicit, analyse and document requirements
- Producing high-quality BA artefacts (as appropriate): user stories, functional specs, process maps, business rules, acceptance criteria
- Supporting end-to-end delivery, including backlog refinement, workshops, UAT support and stakeholder comms
- Applying an understanding of Energy compliance/regulatory obligations to ensure requirements and outcomes align to standards
- Helping drive clarity across scope, priorities, dependencies and risks
What we're looking for
- ~5 years' experience as a Business Analyst (functional BA profile)
- Energy sector experience (essential) and awareness of compliance/regulatory frameworks in the industry
- Strong BA fundamentals: structured thinking, requirement decomposition, traceability, workshop facilitation
- Confident communicator who can work across both business and technical audiences
