Business Analyst

SegPay is looking for a Business Analyst to join our Product & Technology team and serve as a key connection between business stakeholders and our technical teams.
In this role, you'll help translate complex business and payment-processing needs into clear requirements, user stories, workflows, and actionable solutions. You'll work closely with Product Owners, Development, and QA throughout the software development lifecycle-from defining requirements through testing and implementation.

What You'll Do
- Partner with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements
- Create user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional documentation
- Partner with Product Owners to maintain and refine the product backlog
- Facilitate requirements discussions and workshops with business and technical teams
- Analyze payment and financial processes, including settlement, chargebacks, reconciliation, and fees
- Develop test plans and test cases based on business requirements
- Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Identify, document, and help resolve defects
- Create process and data maps to support system improvements
- Assist with root-cause analysis of production issues
- Provide project updates and support training or knowledge-transfer activities
The role combines requirements analysis, payment-process analysis, testing, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration throughout the SDLC.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- 3–5 years of Business Analyst experience, preferably within payments, financial services, or fintech
- Strong experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements
- Experience creating user stories and acceptance criteria
- Experience working in an Agile environment and partnering with Product Owners
- Experience with software testing and UAT
- Strong understanding of payment workflows and financial transaction processes
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
Even Better If You Have
Experience working with financial transactional data, Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, advanced Excel, or SQL would be especially valuable in this position.
