Business Analyst
Summary
Engages stakeholders to elicit and document business requirements, translates them into functional specs and user stories, and supports cross-functional teams using tools like Confluence, JIRA, OutSystems, and AWS. Works on government/public sector digital products and legacy system integrations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage business stakeholders, business/product owners, operational teams and external vendors to elicit, analyse, frame the problems and document business requirements.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, metrics, process flows, service journey, wireframes and other project artefacts.
- Conduct impact assessments and gap analysis for business requirements, incidents and integration initiatives.
- Analyse existing business processes and recommend improvements to enhance service delivery, user experience and operational efficiency.
- Facilitate requirement workshops, solution walkthroughs, sprint refinement sessions and user acceptance discussions.
- Work closely with the cross-functional Scrum team to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into system solutions.
- Support solution design discussions involving OutSystems, AWS services, APIs and external system integrations.
- Review functional designs and proposed solutions to ensure alignment with business objectives and operational needs.
- Assist in release planning, requirement prioritisation, product backlog grooming and backlog management activities.
- Support SIT/UAT activities including test scenario preparation, result collation, defect triage, business validation and deployment readiness assessments.
- Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis and service recovery activities for production issues.
- Prepare and maintain documentation including business requirements, functional specifications, process maps, user guides, training materials and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, operations, platform and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance with government policies, IM8 requirements and system governance standards.
- Support change management, stakeholder communications and user adoption activities for the releases including conduct user training sessions.
Essential Skill Sets:
- 5 + years experience as Business Analyst
- Experience in agile-scrum methodology and end-to-end project lifecycle, including writing user stories and participating in sprint ceremonies
- Experience with tools like Confluence, JIRA, or similar project management and documentation platforms
- Experience in UAT
- Experience building government or public sector digital products
- Experience in integrating legacy systems into a modern platform

- Experience in integrating applications with AI or machine learning services
