Business Analyst - WFO - Surabaya (ID: 715771)
Description
About the role
Many of our clients in Indonesia work mainly in Bahasa Indonesia, while our engineering teams deliver from India in English. You will be our person on the ground: you sit with the client, understand how their business really runs, put it on paper clearly for our engineers, and explain what we are building back to the client in terms they understand.
You may move between clients and projects during the contract. Typical work includes AI agents and document automation, finance and reconciliation processes, conversation analytics, dashboards and reporting, and cloud or application modernization, for clients in manufacturing, logistics, retail and financial services.
Key responsibilities
• Discover and document business processes
• Run workshops, interviews and on-site observation to understand how client teams work today.
• Map as-is and to-be processes, including exceptions, workarounds and approval steps.
• Write business requirements, user stories, process flows and acceptance criteria in English for the delivery team.
• Gather sample documents, data, field definitions and business rules, and keep a bilingual glossary of client terms.
Bridge clients and the delivery team
• Be the day-to-day point of contact between client stakeholders and our India-based delivery teams.
• Translate requirements, questions and decisions both ways (Bahasa Indonesia ↔ English), live in meetings and in writing.
• Explain technology, especially AI, in plain language: what it can do, how accuracy is measured, and why some cases still need human review.
• Join regular calls with the delivery team and relay updates, blockers and clarifications quickly.
• Catch misunderstandings early and raise them before they turn into rework.
Support testing, go-live and adoption
• Prepare test scenarios with the client and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Log defects and change requests clearly, with screenshots and steps to reproduce.
• Translate and adapt user guides, training material and screen labels into Bahasa Indonesia.
• Train end users and collect their feedback after go-live.
• Keep meeting minutes, action items, sign-offs and a risk log, and keep the project manager informed.
Support new opportunities when needed
• Help run discovery workshops and product demos for prospective Indonesian clients.
• Provide process insights and translated inputs for proposals and solution designs.
Must-have requirements
• Languages: Native or fluent Bahasa Indonesia and professional working English, spoken and written. Comfortable interpreting live in meetings.
• Experience: 3–6 years as a Business Analyst, functional consultant or similar role on IT, digital transformation or ERP projects.
• Process documentation: Proven ability to map business processes and write clear requirements, user stories and process flows.
• Technology and AI awareness: Working understanding of AI and automation (generative AI, document extraction/OCR, chatbots, analytics) and of data and cloud basics. No coding needed, but you can follow a technical discussion and explain it simply.
• Business sense: Quick to learn a new industry and its processes, and to spot where technology can save effort or reduce errors.
• Stakeholder management: Confident with end users, managers and leadership; able to drive decisions and sign-offs politely.
• Mobility: Based in Indonesia and willing to work onsite at client offices, starting in Surabaya, with travel to other cities as projects need.
• Tools: MS Office or Google Workspace, a diagramming tool (Visio, draw.io, Lucidchart or Miro) and a project tracker (Jira or similar).
Good to have
• Industry experience in manufacturing, logistics and supply chain, cement or building materials, retail, or banking and financial services.
• Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle or similar) and finance processes such as reconciliation, invoicing or procure-to-pay.
• Prior work on an AI, OCR, RPA, analytics or contact-centre project.
• Experience working with offshore or India-based delivery teams.
• Experience running UAT and end-user training.
• Javanese or other regional languages.
• Business analysis certification (CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA) or a cloud/AI fundamentals certification (e.g. AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS AI Practitioner)
