About your team / Ko te tīma

You will be a core member of the Digital Projects Team, which sits under Digital & Information Services. Our team consists of Testers, Business Analysts, Project Managers and Project Coordinators. We support the delivery of Digital Projects which helps our kaimahi to ensure New Zealander's get home safe from work every day. We care passionately about the work we do, and pride ourselves on delivering value back to the organisation and solving problems in a user-centric way. About the role / Ō te tūranga

This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping how WorkSafe delivers digital change. As a Business Analyst, you'll work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to understand business needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and translate requirements into practical solutions. From analysing current processes to helping design future-state systems, you'll ensure technology investments deliver real business value and support WorkSafe's mission. Working within a dynamic digital project environment, you'll be comfortable navigating changing priorities, evolving requirements and shifting project needs. You'll bring a proactive approach, confidently managing work independently while also partnering effectively with diverse stakeholders, project teams and subject matter experts to deliver successful outcomes. This role will suit someone who enjoys variety, embraces change and can balance autonomy with collaboration.

What You'll Do/ Ko tōu ake mahi

  • Lead workshops to gather, analyse and validate business requirements
  • Map current and future business processes to identify improvements
  • Translate complex business needs into clear functional specifications
  • Partner with project teams and the wider business to design and deliver digital solutions
  • Support testing, user acceptance activities and solution sign-off
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and provide change support
  • Analyse information, identify options and recommend practical outcomes
  • Deliver business analysis artefacts and reporting across projects and other initiatives
  • Size business analysis work, enabling accurate project planning
  • Actively contribute to the BA Community of Practice

What You'll Bring / Ko ngā pukenga ōu

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent Business Analysis experience
  • Demonstrated experience assessing, planning and developing BA approaches (both waterfall and Agile) for pieces of work, including sizing BA work
  • Industry certification such as CBAP, CCAP or similar is desirable
  • Experience delivering digital, ICT or business transformation projects
  • Strong skills in requirements gathering, process mapping and analysis
  • Knowledge of Agile and/or waterfall delivery methodologies
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, requirements and project environments
  • Proven ability to work independently, take initiative and progress work with minimal direction
  • Strong collaborative approach, with the ability to build effective relationships across business and technology teams

Salary range / Awhe utu

As part of our remuneration framework, the expected appointment base salary is $103,059-$113,707 (KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contributions are additional). From 1 April 2026 our KiwiSaver employer contribution increased to 3.5%.
