Business Application Manager

Description

You know shipping. Now you can use that knowledge in a completely different way.

At NORDEN, our core business applications sit right at the heart of how our commercial teams work. But getting the most out of them is not only about the technology. It is about understanding how shipping actually works, how people use the systems every day and where things could work better.

As our new Business Application Manager, you will bring your shipping experience into that space.

You will work with colleagues across NORDEN to improve how we use our core business applications, optimise the processes around them and help turn business needs into better ways of working.

You do not need to come from IT or have worked as a Business Application Manager before. You understand shipping, likely from operations, control/finance or laytime and are curious about how systems and technology can make the business work better.

Why this role?
Because you get to use your shipping knowledge from a completely new angle.

You will join our Business Applications team of six colleagues across Copenhagen, Cyprus and Singapore, working closely with colleagues from the business as well as Digital Services and Solutions.

Your primary focus will be IMOS, but your work will also take you into applications such as SEDNA, PortLog, Shipfix and other tools used across NORDEN.

Some days you might be looking at how a process could work better in IMOS. Others you could be helping colleagues get more out of an application, supporting a new implementation or working with our commercial AI assistant tools.

What connects it all is understanding how people work today and finding ways for our systems and processes to support them better.

Your base will be our office in Hellerup, with occasional travel to other NORDEN offices.

What you will be doing
You will work where shipping, people, processes and technology meet.

You will:

  • Analyse how our business applications and surrounding processes are used and identify opportunities to improve them.
  • Participate in and lead projects implementing new applications, processes and integrations.
  • Train and support colleagues in getting the most out of our applications.
  • Work with teams across NORDEN to create better alignment between processes and systems.
  • Support and develop the use of our commercial AI assistant tools.
  • Work primarily with IMOS while also getting involved with SEDNA, PortLog, Shipfix and other business applications.

What you bring
You do not need to be an IT specialist. What matters most is your understanding of shipping and how these applications are used in practice. You may have used them as an end user up to now, and that experience could be exactly what makes you well suited for this role.

Besides this you likely:

  • Have experience from shipping, from operations, control/finance or laytime.
  • Have worked with shipping business applications and are familiar with IMOS.
  • Are curious about technology, AI and digitalisation and how they can improve the way a business operates.

You are curious about how people work and what could make their day-to-day easier. You listen, ask questions and connect the dots between people, processes and systems, turning what you learn into practical improvements.

Application
Please upload your motivation letter, resume and relevant diplomas via our website as soon as possible and no later than 15 November 2026. Your motivation letter helps us understand what drives you, why you are interested in the role, and how your skills and experiences could contribute to the team. We are especially interested in your motivation and transferable skills, not a recap of your CV. It is your opportunity to tell us the story behind your application.

We review and interview candidates on an ongoing basis.

We will do our best to get back to you at least within ten working days after the application deadline, 15 November 2026.

In NORDEN we value a range of perspectives, educational backgrounds and professional experience and encourages all qualified candidates to apply.
