Business Change Manager

The Naval Ships Business is in a position to announce this GG12 opportunity due to an internal promotion.

This role sits within the Business Change and Transformation function and is responsible for leading, shaping and assuring the delivery of business change across complex strategic transformation programmes and portfolios within Naval Ships and its customers.
The role will see you provide expert leadership in the design and implementation of business change strategies supporting technology-enabled transformation, organisational redesign, process optimisation, cultural change and business modernisation initiatives.

The primary purpose of the role is to define and lead business change approaches that enable successful adoption of transformational change, maximise business value and ensure sustainable benefits realisation.
Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the role is accountable for establishing business change direction across multiple programmes, providing professional leadership, governance and assurance to programme teams and senior stakeholders.

As a recognised authority in Business Change Management, the role acts as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, programme sponsors and directors, providing expert counsel, constructive challenge and thought leadership on business transformation initiatives.
Success is achieved through shaping organisational change strategies, influencing senior decision-makers, establishing effective governance and assurance mechanisms and leading complex stakeholder environments to realise transformational outcomes that deliver measurable and sustainable business benefits.

Your main responsibilities as Business Change Manager will be to\:

· Provide professional leadership and specialist direction to business change practitioners, ensuring consistency, quality and application of organisational change standards, frameworks and methodologies.

· Act as the principal business change advisor to programme directors, sponsors and senior leadership teams, influencing strategic decisions relating to organisational transformation and adoption.

· Define and oversee change governance frameworks, reporting mechanisms and assurance activities to ensure successful delivery of business change outcomes.

· Identify and mitigate strategic organisational, behavioural and adoption risks which may impact programme success, benefits realisation and operational performance.

· Establish and lead communities of practice, change networks and professional development activities to enhance organisational change maturity and capability.

· Use business intelligence, organisational insights and performance measures to evaluate change effectiveness and inform strategic decision-making.

· Ensure business change activities contribute directly to the achievement of programme benefits, organisational objectives and long-term business performance improvements.

Your skills and qualifications\:

· Comprehensive knowledge of business change management principles, methodologies, models and frameworks, and their application within complex organisational environments.

· Strong understanding of project, programme and business change lifecycles and the integration points between change and delivery activities.

· Working knowledge of the Life Cycle Management (LCM) framework and its application within transformation and delivery programmes.

· Thorough understanding of Change Impact Assessment, Change Readiness Assessment and organisational adoption approaches.

· Understanding of learning needs analysis and the design and delivery of learning interventions to support business change adoption.

· Knowledge of benefits realisation, organisational design and business transformation principles.

· Understanding of data analysis techniques and the use of insights to inform business change decisions and interventions.

· Deep understanding of organisational change maturity models and business change capability development.

· Essential (Or willing to work towards) Business Change Practitioner qualification (APMG Change Management, Prosci, or equivalent recognised Change Management certification).

Location\: Scotstoun (3 days per week on site) with regular attendance at Govan. Travel to Naval Ships sites including other BAES locations as required.
