Business Development, APAC

Gauntlet is hiring its primary business development presence for Asia-Pacific. You will own the region end to end: originating and closing partnerships that route deposits and mandates into Gauntlet's vault products (Aera, our onchain treasury and structured-vault platform, and Gauntlet-curated Morpho and Kamino vaults) with fintechs, exchanges, asset managers, and protocols across Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Southeast Asia. Gauntlet's investors include SBI Holdings, and the region is home to some of our most active partners and warmest introductions. You'll work in-region relationships and leads into signed, funded partnerships while building your own pipeline, and provide the local-hours coverage that turns regional demand into a durable book. This is a senior individual contributor role with real ownership: you are Gauntlet's presence in APAC.

About Gauntlet

Gauntlet builds the financial systems of the future. While much of on-chain finance is focused on point solutions, we operate across the entire stack to offer best-in-class vault products. Today, we serve over $1.5B in client TVL across some of the largest fintechs/neobanks, protocols, exchanges, and capital allocators in crypto, and, increasingly, traditional asset management. Our team brings together traditional finance and crypto-native expertise to deliver durable, sophisticated products for institutional clients moving on-chain.

What you'll do;

  • Own the full deal cycle for APAC partnerships: discovery, qualification, structuring, negotiation, close, and post-close activation. Funded TVL is the scoreboard, not logo count
  • Manage and grow Gauntlet's in-region relationships, and convert warm introductions from our investors and partners into active opportunities.
  • Originate your own pipeline with APAC fintechs, exchanges, asset managers, and protocols.
  • Provide local-hours coverage for APAC partners and prospects, and represent Gauntlet at regional events.
  • Navigate regional regulatory nuance (FSA, MAS, and the evolving stablecoin landscape) and structure partnerships that can move within today's rules.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Finance in the US.

What success looks like;

  • First 30 days. Ramp on Gauntlet's vault products and the existing APAC book. Take ownership of active in-region relationships and warm leads. Meet internal stakeholders across the US team.
  • First 3-6 months. Running your own pipeline end-to-end. First self-sourced partnerships in negotiation or closed. Established as the known Gauntlet contact for partners across the region.
  • In 1 year. Operating a full book at quota with multiple signed and funded partnerships. APAC is a growth engine for Gauntlet.

What you bring;

  • 6+ years of work experience, including 4+ years in partnerships, BD, or sales in APAC, with a network across fintechs, exchanges, family offices, and/or asset managers in the region.
  • Within that experience, a track record of selling technical-based solutions to non-technical audiences.
  • A track record owning complex, multi-stakeholder deals with regulated financial institutions.
  • Working knowledge of crypto/DeFi and the APAC regulatory landscape (FSA, MAS, and similar).
  • Comfort operating independently as the senior-most Gauntlet presence in your timezone, with judgment on when to pull in the US team.
  • Strong English; business fluency in Japanese, Korean, or Mandarin.
  • Ability to work autonomously and without direct oversight.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours to ensure some overlap with US counterparts when needed.

Bonus points

  • Existing relationships with APAC financial institutions, exchanges, asset managers, or family offices.
  • An active DeFi user
  • Exposure to asset management, treasury, or structured products.
  • Remote first, with regular in-person company retreats
  • 100% paid medical, dental, and vision premiums for employees
  • $1,000 WFH stipend
  • Monthly reimbursement for home internet, phone, and cellular data
  • Unlimited vacation
  • 100% paid parental leave of 12 weeks
  • Fertility benefits
  • Opportunity for incentive compensation
