Business Development Assistant Manager
Overall Job Objective:
Responsible for developing and growing business opportunities for PALFINGER's lifting solutions across assigned markets in Asia. The role manages customer and dealer relationships, identifies projects and tenders, supports solution-based sales activities, and works with internal stakeholders to convert opportunities into sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development and Market Expansion
· Develop and implement business development plans for assigned markets and customer segments in line with sales objectives.
· Identify and qualify new sales opportunities, projects, tenders, dealers and business partners to expand market coverage.
· Monitor market trends and competitor activities, and provide regular market intelligence, opportunity updates and sales forecasts.
· Build and strengthen relationships with customers, dealers, consultants and key market influencers to drive sustainable business growth.
2. Technical Sales and Customer Management
· Understand customer applications and recommend suitable PALFINGER solutions in collaboration with product and service stakeholders.
· Prepare and follow up on quotations, product specifications, customer presentations, tender submissions and commercial proposals.
· Manage sales opportunities from lead identification through customer engagement, negotiation, order conversion and follow-up.
· Coordinate with internal stakeholders on delivery, commissioning, aftermarket support and service requirements to ensure customer satisfaction.
· Maintain accurate sales pipeline, customer and opportunity records, and provide timely business and sales reports.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Industrial or Marine Engineering),Business, Marketing or a related discipline.
· Typically 3 to 6 years of relevant experience inB2B technical sales, business development or account management, preferably within industrial equipment, lifting solutions, heavy machinery, marine or construction-related products.
· Experience in dealer or distributor management, tender opportunities and/or regional market development in Asia will be an advantage.
· Ability to understand technical products and customer applications, and translate customer needs into commercially viable solutions.
· Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and across functions.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience in maintaining CRM or sales pipeline reporting tools.
· Willingness to travel regularly within assigned markets, where required.
