OPPORTUNITY:

The Deal Manager will be an integral member of the M&A team and be at the lead on deal execution — building relationships with business owners, telling the H2O Care Partners story, and driving deals to signed Letters of Intent (LOI). The Deal Manager will conduct outreach and build trust with prospective sellers, find and evaluate potential opportunities, and own the relationship from first conversation — partnering closely with a dedicated analyst who builds and maintains the financial models. A feel for basic deal economics (EBITDA and valuation) is helpful, but deep modeling experience is not required.

OUR CORE VALUES:

Win as a Team: We are stronger together and win by supporting and respecting one another.

Always Learning: We are constantly striving to improve ourselves, our organization, and our offerings.

Trusted Partners: We are responsive to our partners and customers, communicating with honesty, integrity, and transparency.

Excellence in Our Work: We are committed to providing exceptional service and solutions delivered by an expert team.

Results Oriented: We go the extra mile to solve our partners’ and customers’ needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage multiple projects and drive fast-paced execution
  • Own the seller relationship from first outreach through signed LOI
  • Develop supporting analysis, communication and presentation materials
  • “Sell” the company story to business owners while building rapport and credibility
  • Shape the business case and deal narrative for each potential transaction, working closely with the deal analyst who builds the valuation model
  • Maintain a robust pipeline within HubSpot
  • Oversee junior deal team members
  • Support execution of acquisition strategy and post-acquisition integration initiatives
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High EQ and a natural relationship-builder: able to build trust quickly with business owners of all backgrounds and personalities, and turn that trust into influence and executed deals
  • Attention to detail and an obsession with accuracy with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Comfortable with basic deal economics (EBITDA, multiples, deal structure) — enough to speak credibly with sellers and advisors; deep financial modeling not required
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Team player who is willing to get their hands dirty
  • Capable of working in PE setting: Ability to interface with Executives, Investment Committee, and BOD members
  • Strong organization ability: Ability to optimally manage robust pipeline of add-on targets

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; no specific field required.
  • Five or more years of experience in a relationship-driven, deal-closing capacity. Backgrounds in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or corporate development are welcome, but not required — we are equally interested in candidates from business development, sales, or the home services / trades industries (e.g., plumbing, HVAC, water treatment, pest control) with a track record of building trust with owners and closing deals
  • Deal experience preferred; end-to-end ownership (first conversation through signed agreement) is a plus

LOCATION:

  • Remote in California (San Jose or Burbank areas preferred)
  • Frequent travel required

COMPENSATION:

Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience and will include an attractive base salary, annual bonus opportunity, and a comprehensive benefits package

  • For candidates whose primary place of work will be in California, the expected base salary range for this position is $150,000-$180,000 annually.
