Business Development / Direct Sales, Custom Software (Commission-Based)
Direct Sales, Custom Software (Commission-Based)
Own time, own target. High commission. Real growth path.
About the role
I build custom software for small and micro businesses, things like booking systems, WhatsApp auto-reply flows, admin dashboards, lead tracking, HR/payroll tools. Every project is built from scratch around what the business actually needs, not a rigid template.
I'm looking for someone to go out, find the businesses that need this, get in the room, and help me close the deal.
Examples of what I've already built:
- Full school management and HR/payroll system for a 4-outlet art school group (200+ students)
- Lead tracking and reporting system for a marketing agency
- Booking and admin tools for service-based businesses like fitness studios and tuition centers
That range is the point. The solution isn't fixed upfront, it's shaped around whatever pain point you uncover in the meeting.
What you'll actually do
- Source your own leads, any small business with an operational pain point is fair game
- Get the meeting
- Sit down with the business owner, understand what's actually slowing them down
- I build a live demo with you, or based on what you bring back, and we sell together in that same conversation
- Close the deal
You don't need to pitch a fixed product. You need to get in front of the right people and help me understand what they need.
Who I'm looking for
- A direct sales hustler, not a community builder or GTM strategist
- High sense of responsibility, this is own time, own target, no one's watching your calendar
- With or without an existing network, both are fine
- Comfortable self-sourcing leads and following through without being chased
Compensation
Choose the structure that fits you:
- $1,000/month retainer + 20% commission, or
- Pure 40% commission, no retainer
Both apply to self-sourced custom software deals. Commission on closed deal value.
There's room for a longer-term growth arrangement as trust and traction build over time, this can go beyond a standard freelance/comm setup for the right person.
What we'll track together
Own time, own target, but I'll ask for regular updates on your outreach and pipeline, who you've spoken to, where things stand, what's next. This isn't about micromanaging, it's how we both get a real read on progress and figure out the right metrics to grow the arrangement over time.
How to apply
Send your resume, plus a short note (not a cover letter template, an actual angle) covering:
- One type of business you'd go after first, and why
- Roughly how you'd approach getting in front of them
I'm more interested in how you think about this than a list of past titles.
