1. Business & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute the company's business development strategy.
- Identify new construction projects and potential clients.
- Build a strong project pipeline to achieve annual revenue and profit targets.
- Expand into new sectors such as building, civil engineering, infrastructure, data centres, industrial or renovation projects.
2. Client & Relationship Management
- Develop relationships with developers, main contractors, consultants, government agencies, property owners and investors.
- Maintain senior-level relationships with key accounts.
- Generate repeat business and long-term contracts.
- Represent the company at industry events and networking opportunities.
3. Tender & Project Acquisition
- Monitor upcoming tenders and construction opportunities.
- Decide which projects the company should pursue.
- Lead tender strategy and coordinate with estimating, contracts, engineering and project teams.
- Participate in tender presentations and negotiations.
- Convert opportunities into awarded contracts.
4. Commercial Negotiation
- Negotiate project pricing, contract terms, payment terms and commercial conditions.
- Assess project profitability and commercial risks.
- Work with the contracts/quantity surveying team to ensure bids are commercially viable.
5. Market Intelligence
- Monitor competitors, construction trends, government infrastructure spending and upcoming developments.
- Identify new market opportunities.
- Develop strategies to increase market share.
6. Strategic Partnerships
- Develop relationships with subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and strategic partners.
- Where appropriate, pursue joint ventures, partnerships or new business ventures.
7. Internal Leadership
- Work closely with the Managing Director/CEO, Project Director, QS, Contracts, Finance and Operations teams.
- Lead or manage the Business Development team.
- Set sales targets, KPIs and pipeline objectives.
- Report business forecasts and opportunities to senior management/board.
